Instructor Dive Development, or IDD for short, is a worldwide professional
dive organization, which is established in 1992 in Europe with its Head-Office
in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The reason for this was a dissatisfaction of the existing ways of scuba
training. IDD wanted an education which could be used not only in tropical
waters or cold European waters, but truly could be used effectively all over the
world. IDD is one of the fastest growing scuba organizations in the world. IDD
has developed their own, worldwide recognized, modular teaching system,
which means that you learn the course step by step
(in modules) in your own time and speed.
All lessons are planned carefully to ensure the student follows the contents of
each course in a methodical and logical fashion. IDD training materials are
available in different languages, textbooks are always printed in full color and
are being continuously updated with the latest developments in the diving
industry.
IDD is the first scuba organization in the world who has received the ISO-9001
certificate for high quality in development of professional diving education,
training of diving instructors at all levels with a special focus on diving safety
and certification of trained divers. The educational system of IDD is not
confined only to basic scuba.
IDD also has its own technical department that specialized in technical diving
(Enriched Air Nitrox diving, Rebreather diving, Cave diving, etc.).
IDD also provide Handicapped Diving educations.
IDD has high priorities for the environment and has set up the 'Peace on Reef
project' with the objectives to educate not only divers but anyone so that the
underwater world will flourished.
IDD published its own dive magazine in Holland and the school is well
